Science Clubbing Together – University of Reading
26 January 1999Reading School and the Department of Chemistry at the University of Reading have got together to set up a science club for Year 9 pupils at the school. Jeanette Rowe is a postgraduate chemistry student at the University who is funded by the Environmental and Physical Sciences Research Council. She is the voluntary Researcher in Residence at Reading School where she gives talks to Year 12 pupils about research in the Department. The science club has been set up with the help of two teachers at the school, Andrew Griffin and Helen Stapleton and the members will carry out a scientific investigation, present the results and enter a science competition later in the year.
