Reading in Eden – University of Reading
04 June 2001Dr Tony Kendle of Reading's Department of Horticulture and Landscape has been seconded to the hugely successful Eden project in Cornwall as Director of a new botanical and resource-use Institute. This is a long-term objective for Eden - the Institute will look at issues that range from crop production to environmental protection.
A range of botanical and land-use themes at Eden match closely the strengths of Reading's Faculty of Life Sciences and Eden has drawn on research expertise in a number of areas including Soil Science.
Dr Kendle will run research and partnerships, and in this association the University can provide some of the science and research back-up that Eden will need in its early years. Several Reading graduates are now working at Eden. www.edenproject.com
