Adult education for all – University of Reading
27 July 2004Anyone interested in improving their education by joining part-time evening and daytime classes run for adults at the University of Reading's London Road campus is invited to come to an Open Day being held between 10am and 2pm on Saturday 31 July. Over the coming year, the School of Continuing Education is offering over 300 courses and dayschools on popular subjects ranging from local archaeology and history to creative writing, literature and film. In addition, there are classes in languages (including Spanish and Italian), music (including singing), the history of art, science and social sciences. No previous qualifications are required and some courses offer the opportunity to enter part-time degree study in the long term. Autumn term begins in early October. The first Open Day is being held at the School this Saturday from 10am until 2pm. Two more will take place in September. The Open Days provide a good opportunity to: • have a look around the University's attractive London Road campus • browse through course outlines which provide further details of each course offered • meet with members of staff who can answer questions and provide advice • enrol on courses in person The atmosphere is relaxed and informal, and tea, coffee and biscuits will be available.
