Shipwrecks cast new light on the Dark Ages
09 June 2004Dr Sean Kingsley, Visiting Fellow at the University's Research Centre for Late Antique and Byzantine Studies, has conducted research into 222 shipwrecks which shows that a "sophisticated consumer society" emerged after the fall of the Roman Empire.
