An Evening with Professor Richard Dawkins – University of Reading
14 April 2005This April, The University of Reading is proud to be hosting 'An Evening with Professor Richard Dawkins FRS'. He will present readings from his recent books A Devil's Chaplain and The Ancestor's Tale: A Pilgrimage to the Dawn of Life. The audience is set for a special treat, as joining Richard in the readings will be the actress and book illustrator Lalla Ward, who played the part of Romana in Dr Who. The University's Palmer Lecture Theatre is the perfect venue for Professor Dawkins, who, with his outstanding international reputation in the communication of science, is guaranteed to provide a varied and hugely interesting evening. Professor Dawkins is Charles Simonyi Reader and Professor of the Public Understanding of Science at Oxford University. Along with his best-selling books, he is also well known for his original and sometimes controversial ways of looking at aspects of evolution, the clarity and forthrightness of his views and his many radio and television broadcasts. Following the readings, attendees are to be given a unique opportunity when Professor Dawkins opens up the floor to answer questions on his books, current role, range of activities and views.
