Drop in and learn – University of Reading
22 August 2005The University of Reading's School of Continuing Education is providing adult learners in the region with an opportunity to drop in at Newbury Library and find out more about the courses offered by the University at Newbury College. The drop-in sessions will take place on Thursday 1 and Saturday 3 September 2005 between 11am and 2pm and will give people a chance to ask questions about the Certificate of Higher Education courses which start at the College in September. The courses in Archaeology, English Literature, History, History of Art and Combined Studies are delivered at the College by University staff and have proved very popular with local people. Debbie Doyle, coordinator for the certificate courses at Newbury, said: "The certificates are an excellent opportunity for adults who have never studied at university level before, those who wish to return to study after a long gap or those who aren't able to study on a full-time basis during the day. "Students studying for a certificate definitely find it a challenging experience, but for most it is also a rewarding adventure with the added bonus of gaining a University of Reading qualification."
