University supports Adult Learners – University of Reading
13 May 2005To mark the start of Adult Learners Week (21-27 May), staff from the University of Reading's School of Continuing Education will be at Newbury Library on Saturday 21 May to provide information and advice about the University's courses at Newbury College. The University teamed up with Newbury College last year with the aim of making university-level courses as accessible as possible to adult learners in the region. The introduction of the Certificate of Higher Education courses has proved popular with mature students living in and around the Newbury area, who have found the convenience of studying at Newbury College to be a big advantage. The Certificates are two-year part-time evening courses in Archaeology, English Literature, History, History of Art & Architecture and Combined Studies. They are a qualification in their own right, but are also equivalent to the first year of an undergraduate degree. For further information on the University's Certificate of Higher Education courses at Newbury College contact Debbie Doyle on 0118 378 5340.
