Easter family fun at the University museums – University of Reading
06 April 2006Parents looking for new and egg-citing ways to keep the children entertained this Easter need look no further than the University of Reading's museums. Four different events are being held over the next few days at the Museum of English Rural Life and the Ure Museum of Greek Archaeology. The events are: Easter egg-stravaganza! Tuesday 11 April, 2pm-3pm and 3pm-4pm Come along and decorate a real egg for Easter. Dress for mess! Location: Museum of English Rural Life Fee: Free Age range: Suitable for families with children 7+ 'Comic capers in cloud-cuckoo land' Tuesday 11 April, 11am-4.30pm Theatrical fun. All you need to know about ancient Greek comedy, with mask and costume making in the morning and a drama workshop in the afternoon. Location: Ure Museum of Greek Archaeology Fee: £4 per child (accompanying adult free) Age range: Suitable for families with children 8+ Easter egg-sitement printmaking Wednesday 12 April, 2pm-3pm and 3pm-4pm Work with Artist-in-Residence Julie Roberts to learn about surface printing (monoprinting) and make your own Easter card. Dress for mess! Location: Museum of English Rural Life Fee: Free Age range: Suitable for families with children 6+ Egyptian Jewellery Making Thursday 20 April, 2pm-4pm Join us to make jewellery fit for a pharaoh in this bead and pasta extravaganza! Location: Ure Museum of Greek Archaeology Fee: £2.50 per child (accompanying adult free) Age range: Suitable for families with children 6+ Children must be accompanied by an adult.
