Happy un-birthday Mr Mozart!: Spring concert 2006 – University of Reading

03 March 2006

The University of Reading Chorus and Symphony Orchestra will belatedly celebrate Mozart's birthday on Sunday 12 March. The composer of some of the most impossibly beautiful music known to man would have been 250 on 27 January but for the inconvenience of having died some 215 years ago. Exsultate, jubilate, the exuberantly youthful solo cantata will be followed by the brilliant Paris symphony (no 31). The programme concludes with the darkly beautiful and ever fascinating Requiem. Soloists for the Requiem will be Soprano Tamsyn Steel, Mezzo Louise Armit, Tenor Sean Clayton and Bass Jerzy Nagorski. Conductor is the University's Director of Music, Stuart Dunlop. The concert starts at 4:30pm in the Great Hall on the University's London Road campus. Tickets are £6 or £3 for concessions and can be booked by contacting Alex Richardson on 0118 378 5256 or emailing music@reading.ac.uk.
