Reading climbs Uni league table
Release Date 19 April 2011
The University of Reading has been ranked 34th in the 2012 Complete University Guide, six places higher than the previous year.
Out of 116 UK universities surveyed, Reading was ranked in the top ten in the agriculture, art & design, land and property, law, town and country planning, building and food science categories. Reading also placed in the top 20 for pharmacy, archaeology, linguistics and education.
Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Reading Professor Tony Downes said: "We are delighted to have moved up the Complete University Guide as we constantly strive to improve performance. Our ranking reaffirms the excellent quality of teaching and research that the University provides in a broad range of subjects. However league tables show only a small part of the experience of being a student. Prospective students should always try to visit universities they are interested in: come to Reading and meet the staff and students and get a feel for what we can offer."
The University of Reading's next Open Day is Friday 24 June. For more information call 0118 378 6586 or email student.recruitment@reading.ac.uk
