Spoilt ballots point to protest in PCC elections, University of Reading analysis shows

Dr Alan Renwick, an election expert at University of Reading, said there were more than 120,000 spoilt ballot papers in last week's police and crime commissioner elections. Dr Renwick provided an in depth analysis of figures on spoilt ballot papers in different regions. His comments and analysis appeared in The Guardian.

Dr Renwick's analysis and comment was used elsewhere in The Guardian as the results were revealed.
