The University of Reading's top 1% students were recognised by the Chancellor Sir John Madejski at the 2012 Chancellor's Award ceremony.
The event celebrated those students who achieved the highest results in their subject at the end of either their first or second year of study.
Nearly 70 students gathered for the reception which was hosted by Sir John. Each student received a yearbook with all the winners' names as well as congratulations and encouragement from the University's Chancellor, a successful businessman who founded Auto Trader and is currently Chairman of Reading Football Club.
Sir John said: "The University of Reading was ranked in the top 1% of universities worldwide this year so it is very fitting that we recognise our top 1% students. The University of Reading is committed to rewarding and celebrating talent, hard work and achievement across its student community. Those featured in this yearbook represent our brightest and best students from across the University's broad range of academic disciplines. We are extremely proud to be able to showcase such an inspiring group of individuals."
This year 10 students received the Chancellor's Award for the second year running. Second year student James Davies from Nottingham said: "The University of Reading is widely viewed as the best place to study real estate. Its reputation is based on academic rigour and vocational excellence and the facilities and environment mean that there is something for everyone."
The University of Reading attracts the best students from across the country and from around the globe.
Law student Osarieme Anita Omonuwa is from Nigeria. She said: "I chose the University of Reading as my brother is a graduate and he loved the student experience. The unprecedented academic standard, diversity of students and above all the location confirmed my decision. Coming to Reading was one of the best decisions I have ever made."
Computer science student Sergey Kravchenko from Russia added: "Reading is one of the leading research universities. I thought that if the University has a strong research background then the quality of the teaching has to be great. I love Reading the town. It has given me a place to study with great learning facilities and a picturesque campus."
