2012 was the UK's second wettest year but expect more flooding in the future, say Reading scientists

Following confirmation that 2012 was the UK's second wettest year on record, meteorologists from the University of Reading were interviewed and quoted extensively in the media.

Dr Richard Allan, Department of Meteorology, was interviewed by the BBC News channel, BBC 5Live and a number of BBC local radio stations.

Professor Nigel Arnell, director of the Walker Institute, was interviewed live by Sky News and was quoted in the Guardian, the Financial Times, the Daily Mail, the Daily Express, the Evening Standard, and the Press Association, with his comments picked up by regional and international news organisations. 

Professor Rowan Sutton, NCAS Director of Climate Research, was interviewed for Channel 4 News.

And Dr Roger Brugge, Department of Meteorology, provided local insight and was interviewed by BBC Radio Berkshire and was quoted by the Reading Post.
