Reading archaeologists find evidence that stone-age hunters manipulated the environment thousands of years before farming started

Researchers from the University of Reading found 7500 year-old worked flint ‘tools', bones, charcoal and hazelnut shells while working at Goldcliff, near Newport, in September.

Comments from Professor Martin Bell, Head of the University's Department of Archaeology, leading the Severn Estuary project were featured in articles on BBC website, the South Wales Argus and the Reading Post.
