Reading research into the earth's 'electrical heartbeat' influence on clouds featured in the Guardian

Release Date 17 March 2013

Research by Professor Giles Harrison and Dr Maarten Ambaum, from the University of Reading's Department of Meteorology, on the influence of the atmosphere's global 'electrical heartbeat' on clouds was featured in the Guardian's Weatherwatch column in print and online.

The story followed the publication of innovative research showing that the height of clouds changes by up to 200m during a day under the influence of a global 'electrical heartbeat' in the atmosphere, known as the Carnegie curve.
