Release Date 26 February 2014
The University of Reading has, for the second year running, been rated as the best in the UK and 11th in the world for the study of agriculture and food, according to the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2014.
Among UK institutions, the University of Reading is one of just six universities to achieve a top spot in the subject tables at the national level - with only Oxford, Cambridge, LSE, Edinburgh and the Institute of Education sharing the honour.
Three other Reading subject areas have also been ranked in the world's top 100: English, geography and environmental science.
Law, politics, finance, languages, linguistics and philosophy are all in the top 150 in the world.
The annual QS World University Rankings by Subject is a comprehensive guide to the world's top universities in a range of popular subject areas. Using data on reputation and research citations, the rankings highlight the 200 top universities in the world for 30 individual subjects.
