Vice-Chancellor congratulates students on their A-Level results
17 August 2017
As A-level students pick up their results, Sir David Bell, University of Reading Vice-Chancellor, said:
"Congratulations to all of our new students receiving their A-Level results today. These are rigorous and demanding qualifications which require dedication and hard work.
"University staff have also been working hard to make sure that applicants are matched with the right course and are notified of their position as quickly as possible, for which I am grateful.
"We've seen strong acceptance levels across the vast majority of our subjects this year, but we are also offering a limited number of additional places for other well qualified applicants through Clearing. Furthermore, we can offer places to students who did better than expected, and want to ‘trade up' and come to Reading through the Adjustment process.
"Reading is a world-leading teaching and research intensive university. We have top-class services and facilities and an award-wining campus. Our students tell us they have a great experience here at Reading and the majority of our graduates are in work or further study within six months of leaving university.
"We are currently investing £200 million into a capital investment programme to further improve our facilities, including a £40 million revamp of our Library. And with the opening of our new campus in Malaysia last year we can now offer new study abroad opportunities. We have a lot to offer students and are confident that they will be enriched as a result of their time here."
