Tropical storms: Sky News spoke to Dr Nick Klingaman (Met) about the development of tropical storms following a period in which several major storms have hit Central and North America.
Julius Caesar: Dr Matthew Nicholls (Classics) spoke on a BBC World Service programme looking at the rise and fall of Julius Caesar. Nicholls joined a panel including Bridget Kendall and others, and the programme also ran on Radio 4.
Making rain with technology: Work by Prof Giles Harrison (Met) is mentioned in an article for the National looking at the economic effects of reducing drought by artificially creating rain.
