Reading rises in Times and Sunday Times University 2020 rankings

The University of Reading has ranked 38th in the latest Times and Sunday Times 2020 Good University Guide, rising to joint fourth in the South East.
The UK ranking, published today, sees the University of Reading move up two places into the top 40 universities in the latest ranking of 134 institutions.
Reading continued to cement its place as one of the top research-intensive institutions in the Guide, ranking 29th in the UK for Research Quality. In addition, with a score of 93 the University had one of the highest completion rates in the country ranking 17th.
Other results include:
- Six of the University's subjects are in the top ten nationwide: Animal Science (2nd), Agriculture and Forestry (3rd), Land and Property Management (4th), Building (5th), Italian (9th) and Food Science (10th).
- Seven subjects in the top 25% in their field: Accounting and Finance, Agriculture and Forestry, Animal Science, Building, Business Studies, Food Science, and Subjects Allied to Medicine.
- Spend Per Student continued to increase from £2,560 to £2,785 - putting Reading at 23rd nationally, up seven places from last year.
It follows a week after the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, which saw Reading place joint 29th among UK institutions and ranked joint 75th in the world for international outlook.
