#UniForReading: reaffirming our role as a civic university
- Poetry workshops run by Dr Yasmine Shamma(English Literature) in partnership with Reading Refugee Support Group, which help refugees in the area reconnect with memories of their home countries through creative writing, were featured on BBC South. Read our news story.

COVID-19: expert comment on the coronavirus outbreak
- Dr Simon Clarke (Biological Sciences) spoke to BBC Radio Scotland about poor face masks habits.
- Matthew White (Director of Catering, Hotel and Conferencing) writes for University Business about making catering units at universities and elsewhere safe in light of social distancing guidance due to the pandemic.
- Professor Adrian Palmer (Henley Business School) spoke to Woman Magazine about the UK entering a recession due to the lockdown.
A-levels U-turn:
- Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Mark Fellowes spoke to Newsnight from the Clearing call centre about how Reading is handling the aftermath of the government's belated announcement on A-level grading; This Morning on ITV; Channel 5 News, who also spoke to some Reading call handlers; and is quoted by Huffington Post.
- Pro-Vice-Chancellor Paul Inman was also interviewed in Reading's Clearing call centre by ITV National News and Sky News, with a clip used by the Mail Online and Yahoo News; BBC Radio Northern Ireland on the impact on university admissions processes; and told Heart Radio Berkshire and The Breeze FM - with clips used on other commercial radio stations like Kerrang - the Clearing hotline at Reading had got busy again following the government's announcement.
- BBC Radio Berkshire explained why a small number of courses at all universities, including Reading, may have capacity issues.
