Covid-19:
- Dr Simon Clarke (Biomedical Sciences) was interviewed on Sky News (and here) on the latest government measures to tackle the virus. He also spoke to TalkRADIO and was also quoted in More Radio Online and in a Q&A for the Reading Chronicle (in print).
- Prof Parastou Donyai (Pharmacy) is quoted by International Business Times and MSN Singapore in a piece about the ineffectiveness of ibuprofen in treating patients with the virus. Prof Donyai also penned a piece for The Conversation on the same topic, and was republished on Science Alert.
- Prof Ian Jones (Biomedical Sciences) was quoted in The Scotsman and Edinburgh Evening News on taking ibuprofen to treat Covid-19, and in the Times (in print) about using anti-malarial to potentially treat Covid-19 infection.
- Dr Alister McNeish (Pharmacology) wrote a blog post for The Conversation on whether users of high blood pressure medicine who contract Covid-19 are at a higher risk of death. The blog is reproduced on ForeignAffairs.nz.
- Prof Patricia Riddell (Psychology) was interviewed on TRT World on how people need to look after their mental health during times of crisis.
- BBC Berkshire spoke to Vice Chancellor Prof Robert Van De Noort about what the University is doing to respond to the pandemic.
