Strategy Development - how do we express ourselves?
Thursday, 08 August 2019
The outcomes of the strategy development work suggest the need to re-examine how we express ourselves and our values to our stakeholders and wider audiences. Driven by this a Working Group (chaired by Fiona Blair, Director of Marketing, Communication and Engagement) bringing together colleagues from across the University has been formed.
The group will review and make recommendations to refresh the University brand to reflect our emerging strategic principles and aspirations for the future.
The draft terms of reference for the group are as follows:
- To review the University’s brand considering the emerging new strategic direction in order to make recommendations regarding how the University’s brand could reflect this including (but not limited to):
- brand framework e.g. values/principles/position etc
- aspects of the visual identity e.g. colour palette, use of images (please note g the University logo or device will remain in its current form)
- tone of voice
- To act as ‘brand advocates’ during and beyond the life of the steering group – positively reinforcing the brand and its use via engagement with colleagues and students.
A series of focussed workshop style sessions will take place over the coming six weeks in time to make recommendations to UEB by the end of September, with Mark Fellowes (PVC, Academic Planning and Resource) acting as the UEB sponsor. This is quite a tight timescale, but it is critical that this work is done now so that our response can influence the University’s approach to the next student recruitment cycles.
