Familiarise yourself with 'Prevent' policies

Thursday, 05 December 2019

University shield

The University has important legal obligations, monitored by the Office for Students, to help prevent terrorism and radicalisation – known as the Prevent duty.

In support of this, you need to be familiar with the following policies and documents:

  • Approach to the Prevent Duty
  • Access to Security-Sensitive Materials Policy and request forms
  • Raising a Concern
  • Prevent Training Module
  • External Speaker Policy
  • Regulations for the Use of IT Facilities and Systems

The 'Access to Security-Sensitive Materials Policy' has been produced to help all genuine access to security-sensitive information as part of research, module or study.

If you need any advice on Prevent and how the above policies may apply in a specific circumstance, please contact Jack Paulley.
