Campus open but no teaching today
Friday, 01 February 2019
Our Reading campuses are open today, Friday 1 February. With thanks to our Estates team for their hard work in these conditions.
However, we have taken the decision to cancel all teaching today due to the disruption and difficulties students and colleagues will have in travelling. Some student services may be affected so please do check before travelling to campus for appointments.
If you are coming to the campus or on campus already, please use appropriate footwear for safety reasons.
Our IT team is running the Service Desk with reduced staffing level. If your request isn't urgent, please use the IT Self Service portal. Due to the increased demand for our VPN services, you may experience difficulty connecting remotely. You are requested to only connect to the VPN when you need to use it. Disconnecting from the VPN when you have finished will enable other colleagues to use the service.
Met Office warnings remain in place. Please only travel if it is safe to do so. If you need to re-schedule teaching or other student appointments please contact those affected at the earliest opportunity. You can contact students through Blackboard and instructions are available online.
If the situation changes, we will publish updates on Facebook, Twitter, the Staff Portal and the Me@Reading student portal so please do check for the latest advice.
