Health and Life Science building crane removal
Wednesday, 13 February 2019
Work on our new Health and Life Sciences building is progressing well. Colleagues who would have passed through the site would have noticed the main structure is almost complete.
The static crane currently situated on the site is being removed next week. The removal will take place from 08:00 am on Monday 18 February and will finish by 18:00 on Tuesday 19 February.
The road between building 186 (Central Kitchens) and building 210 (Energy Centre) will be closed to facilitate the removal. There is no impact on these buildings and these will be accessible as normal. Car Park 13 will also be accessible throughout but only via the roadway past Reading Scientific Services Limited.
With the completion of the main structure, exterior cladding will begin to be fitted to the building with construction scheduled to be completed in late 2019. The project demonstrates the University commitment to 2026: TRANSFORM capital investment programme, with £60m being invested to bring about closer integration of the school.
