Head of School vacancies - SAGES and SPEIR
Thursday, 14 February 2019
The University is inviting applications for the posts of Head of School of Archaeology, Geography & Environmental Science (SAGES) and Head of School of Politics, Economics & International Relations (SPEIR) for the next six years, from 1 August.
The roles are open only to internal candidates and offer a good opportunity to colleagues within SAGES and SPIER, and across the University, to develop their careers by taking on academic leadership and managerial role.
The Head of School is responsible for providing the School's academic leadership, and will also contribute to the broader leadership within the wider University.
In a message to potential applicants, Mark Fellowes, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic Planning & Resources) says, "The role of Head of School is quite simply both highly challenging and highly rewarding. There is no underplaying just how important it is. A Head of School must be many things to many people, providing support and guidance, but directing where necessary."
More information on the roles, including job description and person specification, is available in the links below:
- Head of School - School of Archaeology, Geography & Environmental Science

We also welcome coordinated applications from two separate members of staff proposing to undertake the role as a job share.
