Books of condolence for Daniel Williams
Wednesday, 13 February 2019
Further to last week’s sad news of the death of one of our students, Daniel Williams, we would like to invite students and colleagues to sign one of four books of condolence in his memory.
Two books have been placed in the Carrington Building Reception area on the ground floor, with a further two at RUSU’s Reception. They will be available to sign until Friday 15 February, after which we will offer them to Daniel’s family to keep. You are also very welcome to leave flowers at the dedicated site outside RUSU. Any cards or other tributes left at the site will also be offered to Daniel’s family.
There is nothing harder for our community than the death of one of our own and we are committed to supporting our colleagues and students in every way we can.
We have set up a dedicated webpage for students to provide information on the range of support services available at this time. If colleagues would like someone to talks to, please do contact your line manager or use our Employee Assistance Programme, Confidential Care. This hotline provides a comprehensive range of support and advice to all colleagues.
Everyone has a different way of coping, but it is important to seek support when you need it and we would encourage you to make use of our specialist teams – we are here to help.
