Research Staff Conference 2019

Wednesday, 16 January 2019

Resercher presenting results to conference

The biennial Research Staff Conference is back! This is a chance for all researchers to learn about the world of media and for contract research staff to get together and address common interests and issues.

The event will be held in the Henley Business School (Whiteknights campus) on Thursday 21 February, and is split into two sessions:

The morning has a focus on the world of media and is open to all staff involved in research. This is your opportunity to meet and discuss media issues with the UoR press office and external experts, from press releases to social media. There will be professional journalists and science communicators giving practical insights into dealing with journalists and the media and sharing their experiences.

The afternoon focuses on career development for contract research staff (typically PDRAs of grade 6 & 7). What are the next steps you need to take to get promoted? How do you find out about funding opportunities? What professional development courses does the university offer you? Senior representatives of the university will be there with advice and recommendations.

You can register here or contact Steve George for more information.
