Holocaust Memorial Day
Thursday, 24 January 2019
As part of the University community’s commitment to challenging persecution based on race, religion, sex, sexual orientation or disability, we are supporting the RUSU Jewish Society in marking Holocaust Memorial Day on Friday 25 January.
At 13:00 we will observe a moment of silence at the Whiteknights campus flagpole, followed by prayers and words led by RUSU Jewish Society. This event is open to all staff and students.
Holocaust Memorial Day is marked internationally on 27 January. It commemorates the six million Jews that were murdered in the Holocaust, and millions of people killed in Nazi Persecution and in subsequent genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia, Darfur and elsewhere.
Torn from home is the theme for this year’s Holocaust Memorial Day.
