#MadeAtReading: Wellbeing Wednesday
Wednesday, 10 July 2019
All this week we will be exploring the key themes in mental wellbeing, and how colleagues might apply them here on campus.
Being active is of benefit to mental wellbeing, as we mentioned earlier in the week but if going to the gym isn’t for you, you can enjoy a walk around our award-winning campus. This will also help with another key theme in noticing or being mindful. To help with this we’ve produced a Wellbeing Map of Whiteknights campus (wellbeing maps for Greenlands and the London Road Campus are currently being developed and should be available in the Autumn Term). Paper copies of the map will be distributed across the campus in due course and copies are available on request from Alan Twyford.
The map has information and advice to help colleagues get the most out of different wellbeing activities across the Whiteknights Campus. It also shows suggested walking routes that take in some of the sights that has helped our campus to win multiple Green Flag Awards. As you walk take the time to engage with your environment, what do you see, hear or feel? Have an aimless stroll, take in some of our listed architecture or old and beautiful trees or visit the Harris Garden.
At any time but especially today Wednesday 10 July it would be great if you can share your photos and reflections on wellbeing with the University’s Twitter, Facebook or Instagram accounts using the hashtags #WellbeingWednesday and #MadeAtReading.
