Staff Disability Network Coffee Morning

Improvisation workshop
Wednesday 5 June 13:00-13:50, Room 1.09, L22, London Road campus. Colleagues are invited to take part in a series of improvisation workshops. We’ll be playing fun and friendly warm-ups, exercises to explore core improv skills such as listening, making and accepting offers, followed by games, scenes and stories. Staff Summer Gathering

Forgotten Voices
Saturday 8 June, 19:00-20:30 (doors open at 18:30), St Luke’s Church, Erleigh Road. The University choirs present a celebration of the forgotten voices of female and LGBT+ writers and composers in a programme of folk, pop, gospel, and art music, and the spoken word. Tickets are available online or on the door; card payments only.
Free Money Management and Budgeting Course
Thursday 13 June 17:15-19:00, G57, Edith Morley Building, Whiteknights campus
The University Chaplaincy is running a free course on (two further sessions on 20 and 27 June). The course is primarily aimed at postgraduates and staff, but all are welcome. To enrol or for further information, please contact the Chaplaincy or find out more here.
Women@Reading: Growing your Confidence
Monday 17 June 13:00-14:00, 1L61 Synoptic Lab, Meteorology Building, Whiteknights campus. presented by Professor Tricia Riddell, this event discusses what is different in situations where we do and do not have confidence and how we might use this learning to help grow our confidence when we need it. Doctoral Research Conference
Wednesday 19 June, 14.00-17.00, Palmer Building, Whiteknights campus. Registration and research displays from 13.00. This annual celebration of doctoral research at Reading, includes talks from PhD Researcher of the Year finalists, from competition finalists for the Three Minute Thesis, Research Film, and the Poetry, Rhyme & Rap competitions. Gender and Women’s Empowerment – rhetoric or reality?
Wednesday 26 June, 09.30 - 15.45, London Road campus. The event comprises guest speaker talks including Professor Simonetta Manfredi, Oxford Brooks University who will talk about ‘Positive Action’ and Dr Kate Carruthers Thomas, Birmingham City University who will deliver a workshop called ‘Getting Graphic’, interspersed with lively and engaging activities, discussions, and a panel debate.
