New interactive financial support platform
Wednesday, 26 June 2019
Student Services are pleased to announce a new partnership with Blackbullion, the edtech platform transforming financial education for students, funded by donors as part of our IMAGINE campaign.
Our students and applicants will benefit from Blackbullion’s interactive, bite-sized financial lessons, helping them to master their money – from pre-enrolment to graduation and beyond. Topics include budgeting, savings, and debt management, alongside a Student Loan repayment calculator and dedicated content for parents.
The majority of the content is only available after registering on the system. Students can log in using their normal university email address. We will also provide access codes to Open Day visitors and applicants so they can benefit from content on preparing for university.
As a member of staff, you can request access by emailing Sam Young, Deputy Head of Student Financial Support. Colleagues at other universities working with Blackbullion have reported that they found it useful for their own financial planning so please do familiarise yourself with the content. All members of staff at Reading also have access to financial advice through our Employee Assistance Programme tool.
Partnering with Blackbullion is just one way in which our Student Financial Support Team are working to provide students with the tools and guidance they need to improve their financial capability so they can maximise their experience while studying here. The Team, based in the Carrington Building, also offer weekly drop-ins, a money ‘health check’ service and advice on Student Loans.
If you have queries or would like further information please contact Sam Young or Matt Daley, Head of Student Financial Support.
