New IT Service Desk on first floor of Library

Thursday, 27 June 2019

From today 27 June (at 09:00) the new IT service desk is open on the first floor of the Library. This is just one of the changes colleagues will notice as the Library nears completion with services and equipment moving from the Library@URS to the newly refurbished main Library.

The friendly IT team look forward to helping you with any queries or issues. They are able to support printing, Office and OneDrive, software, mobile devices, email and calendars. The Service Desk is open from Monday to Friday 09:00-17:00, which are holiday opening hours. Term time opening hours are Monday-Friday 08:00-18:00, Saturday-Sunday 11:00-17:00. Telephone support (x6262) is available Monday-Friday 08:00-18:00.

The first floor will be changing elsewhere too, with the PCs from Library@URS will be moved back to the Library building and eighty brand new PCs arriving over the summer. The first floor, therefore, will become an area for individual and group study with PC teaching rooms.

The refurbishment of the Library forms part of the University’s ambitious 2026: Transform capital investment programme, which focuses on improving campus facilities and supporting the student experience by the University’s 100th anniversary of its charter.
