GlobalFest 2019: Engage in Globalisation - Wednesday 10 July
Thursday, 27 June 2019
All colleagues are warmly invited to attend CQSD's exciting summer T&L event, Globalfest 2019, on Wednesday 10 July from 9:00-14:00. The event aims to explore what internationalisation of the curriculum and student experience means in practice.
We are delighted to host our Keynote Speaker, Dr David Killick, Emeritus Fellow at Leeds Beckett University and National Teaching Fellow, who will deliver the plenary session, ‘Globalising the Curriculum: What it means, why it matters, how to make a difference’. In the afternoon, Dr Killick will also lead an interactive workshop exploring effective intercultural group work. Due to high levels of interest, this workshop is fully booked, but a waiting list is in operation for those wishing to join.
Other highlights include a series of Lightning Talks, with colleagues and students showcasing good practice at Reading. The international-themed marketplace will also be exhibiting some of the many ways that the Global engagement and multicultural awareness graduate attribute of the Curriculum Framework is purposefully integrated and embedded in our provision. Lunch will be included.
