Get Together: "A great way to meet new people"
Wednesday, 22 May 2019
Close to 400 colleagues from across the University attended the first ‘Get Together’ event held recently in the Meadow Suite on the Whiteknights campus.
“What a brilliant event!”
“Do it again soon”
“Loved research showcase”
“A great way to meet new people”
“Awesome initiative!”
“Really great event with lovely friendly people”
Just a handful of the comments written by some of the colleagues who attended ‘Get Together’ on 2 May. If you weren’t able to make it – we hope to see you next time.
Between 10:00 and 13:30, people dropped in to learn something new, see something new or just say hello. The School of Mathematical, Physical and Computational Sciences (SMPCS) ran demonstrations, colleagues from Estates gave tours of University buildings and lots of free tea & coffee was consumed!
This first event was designed to ask colleagues what ‘Get Together’ should look like in the future. A series of similar events will be planned for later this year. If you attended and managed to grab a ‘Get Together’ mug, remember to bring it with you “ … and bring a colleague too”.
