Evaluation and Impact Framework for teaching, learning and the student experience
Tuesday, 26 November 2019
We are launching our institutional Evaluation and Impact Framework for Teaching, Learning and the Student Experience this week.
This web-based resource is the result of a collaboration between colleagues from the Centre for Quality Support and Development (CQSD) and Student Services. It is designed to support colleagues in both Schools and Functions to evidence the impact of their T&L activities for the benefit of the student experience.
Overview of the Framework
The Framework is a practical resource designed to enable colleagues to take a consistent and systematic approach towards evidencing impact. Key components include:
- the evaluation for impact cycle (pictured above) encourages a holistic approach to the process of evaluation from start to finish
- the impact by design steps support colleagues to think about impact at the design stage and enable impact to be tracked throughout the life-cycle of a change, initiative or project
- the five levels of impact outline different ways in which impact can be demonstrated and link impact to institutional priorities
- the templates provide practical support for colleagues in planning, designing and reporting the impact of their work
Coming soon
Over the coming months, further information and additional resources will be made available to colleagues on the website. Staff development sessions will run in the spring term to support staff interpreting the Framework and with their evaluation activities.
