Communicating with Teams awareness sessions
Thursday, 17 October 2019
Colleagues will have seen the In Brief item about the Communicating with (Microsoft) Teams project. The project will enable you to work more flexibly around and away from our campuses, facilitate stronger collaboration through shared documents and chat functionality, and change how voice communications (phone calls / audio or video conferencing) are managed at the University.
To provide you with more information, we have set up awareness sessions for the Communicating with Teams project which we would like colleagues from Schools and Functions to attend. The sessions will cover:
- what Microsoft Teams is and how can it help you
- what Teams looks like on your computer
- what equipment you can use for phone calls and online meetings
- how the rollout plan for Communicating with Teams project including:
- who it will affect
- what it will provide
- how it will be done and what happens next
- what help and training will be available
- when it will happen
On the Whiteknights campus these sessions will take place on:
- 29 October 2019, Slingo Lecture Theatre, J J Thompson (3 sessions in the afternoon).
- 7 November 2019, Van Emden Lecture Theatre, Edith Morley (6 sessions across the day).
Places can be booked over at UoRLearn.
Awareness sessions will also be held at London Road on 12 November 2019, and a separate session for Greenlands colleagues is in the process of being arranged. IT will contact colleagues based on these campuses separately once booking information becomes available.
This is an important change for colleagues at the University and we would like as many of you to attend the sessions as possible. Further updates, including plans for updating equipment, will be shared with you as the project progresses.
