Reminder: Communicating with Teams awareness sessions
Monday, 28 October 2019
The University will be utilising Microsoft Teams to enable us to work more flexibly around campus and away from our desks. It will help facilitate stronger collaboration through shared documents and chat functionality, and will change how voice communications (phone calls / audio or video conferencing) are managed at the University.
The ‘Communicating with Teams' project will affect everyone who uses the University's current telephone system, changing how we make or receive phone calls or participate in audio/video conference calls.
As this is a major change, you are encouraged to attend one of the ‘Communicating with Teams' awareness sessions on the following dates:
- Tuesday 29 October - 3 sessions at JJ Thomson at Whiteknights.
- Thursday 7 November - 6 sessions at Edith Morley at Whiteknights.
- Tuesday 12 November - 2 sessions at G01 at London Road.
Sessions can be booked via UoRLearn.
The sessions will cover:
- what Microsoft Teams is and how can it help you
- what Teams looks like on your computer
- what equipment you can use for phone calls and online meetings
- how the rollout plan for Communicating with Teams project including:
- who it will affect
- what it will provide
- how it will be done and what happens next
- what help and training will be available
- when it will happen
We are planning sessions for colleagues at Greenlands and will share the details soon.
More information can be found on the Communicating with Teams project page.
