Music at Reading: Autumn Term

Thursday, 19 September 2019

Word cloud of musical terms in shape of a paired quavers

Happy new term! The 2019-20 Music at Reading season promises to be a really exciting one. We have restructured the jazz ensembles: Signature Sounds is the new, auditioned group which replaces the Big Band, Jazz Sounds is a brand new intermediate, flexible jazz ensemble welcoming all instrumentalists to play jazz, swing and Latin styles and learn improvisation. We welcome two new directors to our team: Dae Lee will be leading Signature Sounds and Jamie Howell will be leading Jazz Sounds. You will be able to meet both of them at A Night of Music on 25th September.

Take a look at our new website, which has been redesigned to be much more user friendly for Music at Reading members. The new online store lets you book tickets for events, pay for membership and purchase practice room cards to access Building L29 at evenings and weekends. There is information about all the ensembles, including rehearsal schedules and repertoire lists. You can also purchase your Music at Reading T shirts, the must have fashion item of the new academic year!
