The Reading University Boat Club (RUBC) recently took part the European University Sports Association (EUSA) regatta. Our participation was very successful, winning both the men's and women’s quads events. And great performances from our men's and women’s doubles saw them finish 8th and 4th in their respective events.

A total of 504 participants representing eighty-one universities from twenty-one countries took part in this year’s regatta. We sent a team of twelve athletes in four boat classes: the men’s and women’s quads and doubles.

The host city of Jönköping is the tenth biggest city in Sweden and the rowing course was on Lake Munksjön right in the heart of the city, with the finish line being surrounded by a grandstand as well as the city’s shops, bars and cafes.

Director of Rowing, Will Rand, said:

“It's been an early start to the season, but a very positive one and we're all excited now to welcome the new and returning students into the boat club as we all start back.”
