A temporary day permit – for use by University colleagues or their visitors – will continue to cost £3.30 and will be limited to 25 per year per member of staff. Blue Badge holders can park in the designated areas for free.
The policy of not permitting students to bring a car to the site including Halls unless they have applied for and been approved a permit in line with the Student Parking Criteria has not changed.
Our Campus Services and Maintenance colleagues have been maintaining the University’s 45 car parks, while many of us work from home. The money we pay for our parking permits contributes to the upkeep of these car parks, including remedial works, signs and small-scale CCTV improvements.
If you do not need a parking permit, please contact campusparking@reading.ac.uk who will provide instructions on what you need to do. The permit will then be cancelled and Payroll informed to stop the parking charges being deducted from your salary.
The parking spaces on our campuses are limited, and we encourage staff to use alternative modes of transport wherever possible. Information on alternative modes of transport, including any staff discounts, is available on our Sustainable Travel website.
Information on parking at the University’s campuses, including how to secure a permit, is available on our Staff Parking website.
