Video available for VC all-staff briefing session, 17 December 2020
Friday, 18 December 2020
Thank you to all who joined Vice-Chancellor Robert Van de Noort in yesterday's all-staff briefing session (17 December 2020).
At the final session of the autumn term, Robert reflected on the major global events that have underpinned our work this year, from COVID-19 to climate change and the Black Lives Matter movement. He also drew attention to the home-grown success stories from our University community, including our local efforts against COVID-19, and thanked everyone for their incredible work over the past 12 months.
The session also included an update from Deputy Vice-Chancellor Parveen Yaqoob and Dean for Diversity & Inclusion Allan Laville on the Race Equality Review. They talked through the progress that has been made to date, which has included several active listening exercises with colleagues and students and detailed assessments of quantitative data received through surveys. They also explained the reasons for moving the publication of the review from December to spring 2021, which you can also read more about in this staff portal story.
