At the end of January, a group of academic colleagues from the Moscow State Institute for International Relations (MGIMO) visited the University. They attended a one-week programme, designed and delivered by the International Study and Language Institute (ISLI), focussing on teaching and learning in Higher Education through the medium of English. As well as following this programme, the participants observed teaching sessions and met their counterparts in the Henley Business School, the Department of Economics and the Department of Politics and International Relations, to further develop existing or potential joint programmes between ourselves and MGIMO.

The programme was very well received by the participants, who commented on the “the outstanding staff”, “friendly environment” and a “truly productive, informative and inspiring” week. They are now looking forward to “further mutually beneficial co-operation between MGIMO and UoR”.

MGIMO, a leading Russian university specialising in political studies and international law, has been officially the University of Reading’s International Strategic Partner since 2013, offering a range of double Master’s degrees allowing students to study at and be accredited by both institutions.
