Focus group invitation: University Review of Race Equality
Friday, 17 July 2020
Last month, the Vice Chancellor initiated a widespread review of race equality within the University. The review is being led by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Professor Parveen Yaqoob, and the Dean for Diversity, Dr Allán Laville, and will report back to UEB before the end of the year.
There will be a number of listening sessions and ways for staff and students to feed in through various formats with further announcement to follow and the aim will be to permit as many staff and students as possible to feed in their views.
As a first step, we will be holding a small number of focus groups exploring the experiences of several staff groups from ethnic minority backgrounds.
These sessions will be small, informal and confidential and will discuss broad issues around your experiences (positive and negative) of the University and community, your relationships with colleagues, staff and peers, and any impact of race on you and your work.
