Getting ready for Autumn Term Teaching

CQSD are running a series of online sessions to help support you in preparing your teaching for the Autumn Term. These will be linked to the approaches outlined in the Autumn Term Teaching framework. New dates have now been added - see below for session details.
These sessions are in addition to all the online resources that are available from the CQSD website.
Where do I start? Getting ready for Autumn Term Teaching
This short session unpacks the key points of the T&L Framework and provides essential guidance as you start to design your flexible and blended approach. We'll consider what your teaching may look like in practice and signpost useful resources so that you leave the session knowing what your next steps should be.

Running an interactive session - Getting started with webinars
Dialogue and interaction have been identified as two essential aspects of effective online teaching and learning (Stephenson and Coomey, 2001).
This short session explores the key features of interactive webinars, inviting participants to examine what being 'interactive' means, why is it important and how to make such interactions meaningful. We'll invite you to consider what your autumn teaching 'live' sessions might look like in practice, and signpost further guidance and support, so that you can design and plan effective and engaging tasks for your students when using webinars in your teaching and learning context.

Screencastingfor theAutumnTerm:Updates to recommended approaches
This session will focus on recommendations for sharing, recording and planning screencasts for the Autumn Term Teaching. The aims of the session are to:
- Understandhow tomake bestuseofMS Stream, the Universitystreamingplatform, to share screencasts and set viewing permissions.
- Explore recordingoptions, expanding on our initial advice in the May/June webinar sessions.
- Consider ways to effectively planand deployscreencasts to complement autumn termteaching approaches
Please note all core webinar content is provided asynchronously via the CQSD Online Teaching Toolkit. We will signpost to sections of this resource throughout the webinar and you may wish to view before attending.
