TargetJobs awards

We are delighted to share that the University of Reading has been shortlisted for the National Graduate Recruitment Awards 2020, as Finalists in the category "Best University Employability Strategy".

The TARGETjobs National Graduate Recruitment Awards recognises the work of university careers departments with an exclusive award for the best university employability strategy. This award is designed to champion institutions that go the extra mile helping students achieve their potential when searching and applying for graduate roles and transitioning to employment.

At Reading our careers and employability activities have seen a significant uptake, seeing their strongest growth yet in 18/19: 51% growth in student participation at extracurricular central careers workshops; 27% increase in number of career workshops delivered directly in the curriculum; 25% growth in number of students attending 1-1 Career Coaching appointments.

Director of Careers and Employability, Dr Andrea Kreideweiss, said:

"We're delighted with this nomination. It recognises the significant work that's being done at academic school and professional services level to support students into outstanding career destinations. Equally, this award nomination recognises the hard work our students are putting in, day in and day out, to create interesting, fulfilling and rewarding futures for themselves.

"Last but definitely not least, this nomination would not have been possible without the 320+ employers who travel to campus each year, meet students, showcase career opportunities, and share their own personal career journeys and top tips."
