BAME Allyship
Being a BAME Ally is much more than just saying "Count me in". It is a commitment to understanding how race and racial beliefs affect the experiences of your BAME colleagues and students. It is about listening and self-reflecting. It is about being visible and challenging unacceptable behaviour. It is about asking what you can do to change things, rather than looking at others. It is a constant process of learning.
A good place to start is at the BAME Network's Padlet board for Allies, which contains a rich collection of links and resources. If you'd like to join the BAME Network as an Ally, please email bame.network@reading.ac.uk.
