Autumn term guidance for students
Wednesday, 23 September 2020
As well as guidance for colleagues, we have also developed guidance for new and returning students as part of the enrolment process. This highlights what they can expect when they return to campus and also what behaviours will be expected from them.
This guidance is published here on Essentials and all new and returning students will be asked to confirm that they have read this information when they enrol/re-enrol. We will also continue to update our main Essentials webpages with information about the autumn term, as this becomes available.
Plans for Welcome Week and Fresher's this autumn
Work to create a fun, vibrant welcome for new and returning students is in full swing! Intake started from 15 September and continues this week with Welcome Week from Monday 21 September.
Like our teaching, this welcome will be ‘blended'. It will include key sessions hosted online, complemented by some activities on campus with appropriate social distancing. There is also an option for Schools to run face-to-face social events. We are prepared to respond quickly if external guidance changes.
RUSU have been working with us on Welcome plans and they will offer a range of social activities online and on campus from the start of the autumn term. However, they have decided to postpone their own ‘Fresher's Fayres' to the week of 12 October.
