New Reader in Real Estate and Planning

Kathy Pain

Dr Kathy Pain

Real Estate and Planning is pleased to welcome Dr. Kathy Pain to Reading.

A planner-geographer, Corporate Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, Kathy has worked as a professional planner in London and has previously taught at the University of Birmingham, the Open University and Loughborough University.

Kathy is also a Fellow at The Young Foundation, London, an Associate Director of the Globalization and World Cities Research Network  http://www.lboro.ac.uk/gawc/, and co-directed the EUR 2.4m NW Europe INTERREG IIIB research project POLYNET: Sustainable Management of European Polycentric Mega-City Regions with RSA President Sir Peter Hall.

She is also the author of key publications on urban and regional development, policy and planning in the context of contemporary economic globalization.
