Children reading together

We are finally able to bring you the results of the Annual Raymond Wilson Competition.

The competition, to write a poem for children was won by Nicole Willis, a second year student in the Institute of Education. Her winning poem:

 Kit Miaowler

Midnight prowler

Slit-eyed scowler

Dog house yowler:

Kit Miaowler.

Standing prouder

Hissing louder

Sharp claws outer:

Kit Miaowler.

Padded pawwer

Moon light trawler

Scratch the doorer

Night time crawler.

Secret fighter

Vocals tighter

Getting lighter

Just by nighter.

Midnight prowler

Slit-eyed scowler

Dog house yowler:

Kit Miaowler...

Nicole Willis

Highly commended poems were The Sweater by Pam Patience, Psychology and Clinical Language Studies Stellar Rebellion by Linda Price, and Perspective by Ann Westgarth, Communications Office.

The judges would like to thank everyone who entered this year. Next year's competition will be advertised at the start of the summer term.
